Light is my inspiration to photograph.
I have seen moments in nature where the light is so pure, so illuminating, so transcendent that I feel as if I have been transported to another place. This light is fleeting, rare. To see it even once in a year is an extravagant gift. When you are in its presence, you know you will only be able to remain there for a brief time before the shadows of this world veil again that which you are so clearly seeing.
It’s the pursuit of this light, and what it reveals, that drives me forward. Photography is the medium of light, literally “Light Writing” from the Greek. Whether rare or common, light reveals, illuminates, and displays that which it strikes. Through it, photography provides a means to communicate realities both external and internal, temporal and eternal, and share those experiences with others.
